After Festivus and Saddam’s Execution, How About Some Good Music?

Well, here you go, your mind-meld is here, just in time for New Years celebrations….

First off, I updated the MP3s of the week, another two-for, both from The Islands. The tracks are amazing, and I’m sure you will agree, if not, oh well, go listen to Justin Timberlake and stop reading my blog. The song “Swans” is over 8 minutes long, and breaks into an amazing outro at about 7 minutes in.

Next, a few bonus tracks to make your New Years a little more cheerful and optimistic about the upcoming year, unless your drunk and passed out by now…

Well, here it is, Sufjan Stevens - Sister Winter.mp3. Right click and pick ’save link target’ to download or left click to play it from its location on the post.

It is also added to the right unde the Pirate Radio pic as the MP3 of the Week.

This song has had many different machinations for me. The tone is somber in the begining but almost become joyful near the end when he repeats “to wish you a happy christmas”, almost as if he is happy that his “heart has turned to Sister Winter” because now he can use his sadness for inspiration. That is the true artist.
