New Instrument Takes into Account the Wii Technology of Motion in X,Y, and Z Directions (video)

This video shows how this new instrument which resembles some sort of accordion 2.0 can be played with the chords on the left, melody on right and motion up and down to transform the note being played up or down. Very cool stuff and I can’t wait to see this widespread in the consumer sector.

Quote of the Day - The Future of Eye Tracking

“At Imperial College in London and elsewhere, scientists have built computer systems roughly controlled by the user’s eyes. An infra-red eye-tracking headset tells the computer where on the monitor the user is looking, allowing the user to perform tasks by sight alone, such as moving a cursor or clicking on a function.” - courtesy of web analytics book

In the future what I look at will be monitored and reviewed to better sell me products. This will make us better consumers. Hooray consumerist world! I will keep an EYE on you!

Anti-Gravity is Almost Here - Really it is!

Every UFO buff knows that those little green men are driving around in spaceships equipped with anti-gravity devices…

but to the skeptics and lay person on the street, is this stuff viable outside the pages of sci-fi novels?

according to a lot of scientists, it is - in the form of a hyperdrive that would power future space vehicles….

The basic concept is this: according to the paper’s authors - Jochem Häuser, a physicist and professor of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzgitter and Walter Dröscher, a retired Austrian patent officer -

If you put a huge rotating ring above a superconducting coil and pump enough current through the coil, the resulting large magnetic field will "reduce the gravitational pull on the ring to the point where it floats free".

Let me repeat that - reduce the gravitational pull on the ring to the point where it floats free….

Meaning gravity can be bested through the use of superconducting magnets and a large amount of electricity….

Good news for a Sunday stuck on the ground in gritty sunny baltimore.

Mining the Metasphere - A New Word to Describe What We Do When We Surf the Info-environment

Information is coming at us so quickly that there needs to be a new moniker out there to describe the total info environment that permeates our everyday lives.

    That word is metaspheWordPress database error Table 'constantskeptic.wp_wpv_display_option' doesn't exist for query SELECT post_id, column_count, display_text, display_thumbnail, display_align, display_vertical_align, target_thumbnail_size, target_image_size, display_table_border_color, display_table_border_style, display_table_border_width, cell_background_color, cell_background_color_hover, border_color, border_color_hover, border_width, name_font_size, name_font_bold, name_font_color, name_font_underline, comment_font_color, comment_font_size, image_display_background_color, image_display_border_color, image_display_font_color, image_display_name_font_size, display_table_width, display_table_width_unit, display_table_margin_top, display_table_margin_right, display_table_margin_bottom, display_table_margin_left, display_table_location, display_status FROM wp_wpv_display_option WHERE post_id = 743 made by getdisplayoptionfromdb WordPress database error Table 'constantskeptic.wp_wpv_display_option' doesn't exist for query SELECT post_id, column_count, display_text, display_thumbnail, display_align, display_vertical_align, target_thumbnail_size, target_image_size, display_table_border_color, display_table_border_style, display_table_border_width, cell_background_color, cell_background_color_hover, border_color, border_color_hover, border_width, name_font_size, name_font_bold, name_font_color, name_font_underline, comment_font_color, comment_font_size, image_display_background_color, image_display_border_color, image_display_font_color, image_display_name_font_size, display_table_width, display_table_width_unit, display_table_margin_top, display_table_margin_right, display_table_margin_bottom, display_table_margin_left, display_table_location, display_status FROM wp_wpv_display_option WHERE post_id = 728 made by getdisplayoptionfromdb WordPress database error Table 'constantskeptic.wp_wpv_display_option' doesn't exist for query SELECT post_id, column_count, display_text, display_thumbnail, display_align, display_vertical_align, target_thumbnail_size, target_image_size, display_table_border_color, display_table_border_style, display_table_border_width, cell_background_color, cell_background_color_hover, border_color, border_color_hover, border_width, name_font_size, name_font_bold, name_font_color, name_font_underline, comment_font_color, comment_font_size, image_display_background_color, image_display_border_color, image_display_font_color, image_display_name_font_size, display_table_width, display_table_width_unit, display_table_margin_top, display_table_margin_right, display_table_margin_bottom, display_table_margin_left, display_table_location, display_status FROM wp_wpv_display_option WHERE post_id = 727 made by getdisplayoptionfromdb WordPress database error Table 'constantskeptic.wp_wpv_display_option' doesn't exist for query SELECT post_id, column_count, display_text, display_thumbnail, display_align, display_vertical_align, target_thumbnail_size, target_image_size, display_table_border_color, display_table_border_style, display_table_border_width, cell_background_color, cell_background_color_hover, border_color, border_color_hover, border_width, name_font_size, name_font_bold, name_font_color, name_font_underline, comment_font_color, comment_font_size, image_display_background_color, image_display_border_color, image_display_font_color, image_display_name_font_size, display_table_width, display_table_width_unit, display_table_margin_top, display_table_margin_right, display_table_margin_bottom, display_table_margin_left, display_table_location, display_status FROM wp_wpv_display_option WHERE post_id = 656 made by getdisplayoptionfromdb WordPress database error Table 'constantskeptic.wp_wpv_display_option' doesn't exist for query SELECT post_id, column_count, display_text, display_thumbnail, display_align, display_vertical_align, target_thumbnail_size, target_image_size, display_table_border_color, display_table_border_style, display_table_border_width, cell_background_color, cell_background_color_hover, border_color, border_color_hore. Enjoy and use the word whenever you can to replace the old sounding ‘internet’, or worse, ‘web’. Metasphere is definitely the hot tamale right now.

enjoy it and be fruitful with it and multiply it.

example1: When searching the metasphere, I always use google.com.

example2: I had trouble searching the metasphere until google helped me out.

New Light Bulb will Outlast You - Look for GE to Squash This

Wow, Ceravision has developed a light bulb that is 50% efficient, which means it will last decades longer than the best light bulbs today. How about a big FU to Edison for developing and marketing such a crappy wasteful bulb in the first place; and for stealing Tesla’s ideas on electricity and exploiting his talent.
    clipped from www.ceravision.com

“The biggest revolution to the lighting industry since the invention of the filament lamp, and even the high power LED”.

Ceravision Limited is an independent, privately owned high-tech company based in the Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre that itself forms the hub of a refurbished and revitalised historic Bletchley Park.

Ceravision was founded in 1997 to utilise its collective expertise in the field of ceramics and has established a reputation for delivering high-class technology on-time, to budget, and with innovation at its core.

Ceravision has now developed the Continuum™2.4 lamp system, a microwave driven, electrodeless, high intensity discharge lamp, powered by our proprietary R-EFF™ power system, with unique engineering, environmental and societal benefits. The system is now available for release to customers for evaluation.

The U.S. Central Command’s war plan for invading Iraq postulated in August 2002 that the U.S. would have only 5,000 troops left in Iraq as of December 2006, according to the Command’s PowerPoint briefing slides, which were obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and are posted on the Web today by the National Security Archive.
