20 million dollars to shoot at falling satellites (and miss)

There is a near zero chance that it will work but the Pentagon states that it will try to shoot down the satellite that is hurtling toward earth.

You haven’t heard that one of the US’s satellites was falling to Earth?

The Clinton presidency and the real UFO cover-up… Serpo is the key

Unbeknown to most of the public, there was a massive impetus to release classified information regarding UFO’s during the Clinton administration. Of course those efforts failed, but the documentation that the request was in can be found here:

The report is allegedly requesting a document corpus of 3000 pages of UFO related material from the past forty years of alien and UFO incidents, including the SERPO incident where the same species of alien that crashed at Roswell actually made contact and landed at Holloman AFB (named Holloman Landing) in 1964 and the real “close encounters of the third kind” took place. Twelve of our bravest and brightest were taken to their home planet.

What do you think? I personally think this is part of a disinformation campaign, or completely false… but then again, I am the constant skeptic.

TU-24: so we only have 3.5 days to live?

According to many hack videos on youtube, digg, etc. , TU-24 is potentially an apocalyptic asteroid, the likes of which would be magnitudes more catastrophic than the Tungusta incident that occurred in rural Russia.

I am very skeptical of this one. Allegedly, if the asteroid is a ‘negatively charged’ one then it poses more of a threat because if it passes close enough to earth it could trigger a plasma discharge as it gains electrons and massive fires could start on Earth. As the trajectory is mapped out into the future, it is predicted to be at it’s closest distance to the Earth sometime on January 29th 2008. Ridiculous if you ask me, but here are two videos for you to watch, laugh, and let me know what you think. (Is this plasma discharge even a real phenomenon or something made up?)

There is even a website devoted to this: TU-24.org and on the website it states an utter lie that ‘it is heading right for us’ when it clearly has been shown to have ZERO chance of hitting the Earth.

BadAstronomy.com has something to say about it and basically debunks it as well, so good on them.

This is too funny, how to get word smacked by NASA

Ok, to give you some background on this, this is a question posited to the “Ask an astrobiologist” section of the NASA Astrobiology Institute’s website.
It has to do with what the *real* truth is behind the ‘face on mars’

Question:

Here’s one for ya. The face on Mars. Now, keep in mind that I’m a UFO alien believer. I’ve been to several websites, read several articles, and watched several videos about the face on Mars. I’ve even seen all the photos. Now, despite what NASA says….THAT’S A FACE!!!! Anyone can see that! It’s not shadow’s or trick-of-light. Why does NASA always cover these things up??? For once, can’t we just be told the TRUTH?

Answer:

I’m sorry to hear that you have been taken in by absurd claims on the web about the Face on Mars. Sure, it looks like a face in low-resolution images like the original Viking photo in 1976. And equally obviously it does not look like a face in the many higher-resolution photos, under different lighting conditions, that have been taken recently by much more powerful cameras in orbit around Mars. In science we try to use the best data available, not jump to conclusions based on a “first look” and doggedly cling to those initial ideas in spite of new, better information. We are also careful to study real images, not computer-generated videos like those you refer to, which just show the concept that was put into the computer, not the real feature on Mars. Many of the original “Face” proponents have come to realize that this mesa does not really look like a face, and one crazy conspiracy theory was that this feature had been bombed between the original photo in 1976 and the better pictures taken during the past decade. NASA has been open about this issue; remember that it was NASA scientists who first identified this feature in the original low-resolution Viking photos. We do not “cover things up”. Indeed, what possible reason could there be for NASA to try to suppress evidence of aliens — that would be stupid on our part. Anti-Gravity is Almost Here - Really it is!

Every UFO buff knows that those little green men are driving around in spaceships equipped with anti-gravity devices…

but to the skeptics and lay person on the street, is this stuff viable outside the pages of sci-fi novels?

according to a lot of scientists, it is - in the form of a hyperdrive that would power future space vehicles….

The basic concept is this: according to the paper’s authors - Jochem Häuser, a physicist and professor of computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzgitter and Walter Dröscher, a retired Austrian patent officer -

If you put a huge rotating ring above a superconducting coil and pump enough current through the coil, the resulting large magnetic field will "reduce the gravitational pull on the ring to the point where it floats free".

Let me repeat that - reduce the gravitational pull on the ring to the point where it floats free….

Meaning gravity can be bested through the use of superconducting magnets and a large amount of electricity….

Good news for a Sunday stuck on the ground in gritty sunny baltimore.

New Strangeness for the New Year - video of NASA photo touchups & conjuring the face on mars & falling objects in New Jersey

first off:
Watch out for falling objects this new year…..

What is known so far is that the metal object was “heavier than a usual metal object of that size” and that no radioactivity was detected. At least the NJ cops will be kept busy for a while.

Constant Skeptics prediction for 2007 is that more things will be falling and police will continue to ponder that magical thing called gravity.

In between dreams of new years resolutions to quit smoking and to stop eating questionable foods, I found some terribly bad Mars pictures with alleged ‘extraterrestrial evidence’. Look how ridiculous they are:
