yes the constant skeptic looks different…. how to do favicons and more
So, I guess if you are reading this, you know that I have updated this site’s look and feel. I hope the changes I have made are for the better. If they are not, feel free to rant in the comments section below. Remember to be nice because it is Christmas.
Changes
I changed the favicon for the site, which is the little avatar that represents what the site looks like next to the address bar and in the browser tabs as well.
The old favicon was Bat Boy, but now it is more like a golden sun with the simple letters CS in the foreground.
So, just in case you have your own web site and you want to create your own favicon, here are a few helpful tips:
1. create a new image in GIMP 2, paint.net, etc. that has a canvas size of 16 x 16 pixels
2. design on this canvas the way you want the image to look, keeping in mind that it will be very tiny
3. save as either a jpeg or gif image
4. rename the file extension to .ico and then you are ready to upload it.
for further details read this great post on “Daily Blog Tips”, which I really do read daily as of yesterday
OK, so on to the other changes:
I also finally gave up and added advertisement blocks on the site in an attempt to finally monetize this blog after 2 years of development. If you want to advertise anything on here, please email me and let me know.
