Gates: US will keep at least 35,000 troops in Iraq forever

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates told Congress on Wednesday that he envisioned keeping five combat brigades in Iraq as a “long-term presence.”
I really don’t see the problem with this, the US has a presence in many countries, and giving the volatility of the region, this is really no big deal, but many liberals out there will take this quote and exaggerate its meaning.
